Privacy Awareness Week 2024

This year’s theme for Privacy Awareness Week is: Power Up Your Privacy. Privacy and technology: improving transparency, accountability and security.

Privacy Awareness Week is an annual event that highlights the importance of protecting personal information and helps government agencies, organisations and the public understand privacy rights and responsibilities.

Privacy regulators from across Australia have issued a joint statement to mark the start of Privacy Awareness Week 2024.

Handling Personal Information

Coinciding with Privacy Awareness Week, State Records of South Australia have released a free online training course ‘Handling Personal Information’ available at https://learn.archives.sa.gov.au

This course outlines the importance of handling personal information appropriately.

Who should do the course?

  • All state government staff who handle personal information as part of their role (including contractors, volunteers and any other people working on behalf of the agency).
  • Local Government and University staff, contractors and volunteers who handle personal information.
