In 2023, State Records conducted a survey of agencies' information management practices against the Information Management Standard (the Standard). This survey was conducted under section 15 of the State Records Act 1997 (SR Act).
State Records' Self-Assessment Tool (Tool) was used by agencies to assess their own maturity levels. The Tool provided a score and generated a report that identified and helps agencies prioritise areas to address. Agencies then provided their score to State Records via an online form.
This survey establishes a baseline rating across South Australian universities, state and local government organisations for 2023-24. Future surveys will enable State Records to identify areas of improvement and will further help inform policy decisions moving forward.
The combined survey response rate including all universities, state and local government organisations was 93%.
