This series consists of papers related to ships chartered by the Colonization Commissioners to convey assisted emigrants to South Australia between 1849 and 1885.

This index was compiled by former State Records staff during the 1970s and 1980s while assisting researchers with shipping enquiries. The index acquired its name due to the index cards being filed in a small cake tin.
References point to sources now in both State Records ('GRG' references) and the State Library of South Australia (all other references).
