The term ‘information asset’ incorporates the definition of an official record as defined by section 3(1) of the State Records Act 1997, where it is created or received through the conduct of government business.  This includes information data and records in any format, whether digital or hardcopy.

Assistance for government agencies to meet their responsibilities under the Freedom of Information Act 1997 (FOI Act) and Information Privacy Principles Instruction (IPPI) can also be found.
