Providing Advice

Our Service Delivery Timeframes support the State Records Customer Service Charter

Our staff will respond to requests for advice as soon as possible. 
We commit to providing a response within the following timeframes:

Written responses may take up to 20 working days.

The on duty Archivist will answer enquiries made in the Research Centre  on the spot.

Records must be ordered by 2 pm on the day before your appointment. Records are only available to be viewed with a prior appointment. Records can not be ordered on the day.

  • Routine loans are processed within 48 hours.
  • Urgent loans are processed within 24 hours.

There are longer processing times for loans when the items requested are located at our offsite repository.  We will let you know when this applies.

Written responses may take up to 20 working days.

Written responses may take up to 5 working days or longer by negotiation.

Within 8 weeks from submission of all required documentation.

Proposals

  • Responses may take up to 2 weeks.

Booking a physical transfer

  • Within 6 months following receipt of all required paperwork.

Copying Services

Up to 4 weeks.

  • Less than 40 pages within 4 weeks from payment.
  • Between 40 and 99 pages within 6 weeks from payment.
  • More than 100 pages to be negotiated.

Copies of records can be made in our Research Centre using our available camera or your own device.
