The Information Governance Guideline (Guideline) expands on the behaviours underpinning the Information Management Standard (Standard). It offers guidance on the necessary structure and rigor to manage information assets.

The Guideline helps your agency with the development, implementation and improvement of an Information Management Program (Program) as prescribed in the Standard.

It should be used in conjunction with the Self-Assessment Tool (Tool) through which your agency can assess its information governance maturity and capabilities (current information management practices) against the Standard.

Information Sessions - Information Governance Guideline and Self-assessment Tool

The first information session  was held on 28 September 2022 in preparation for the release of the Information Governance Guideline and Self-assessment Tool consultation period.

The second session was held on 18 May 2023 and discussed the changes made as a result of consultation and the next steps.
