Approved Storage Providers (ASPs) are not permitted under the Deed to store permanent or unsentenced information assets unless an exemption is approved by State Records.

Permanent information assets

State Records has provided a Global Exemption allowing agencies to store permanent information assets with Approved Service Providers (ASPs) that are:

• younger than 15 years or
• still in administrative use.

This is an exemption to storage requirements established under the State Records Storage Approved Services Provider List (the Deed).

Agencies wishing to store information assets with ASPs which are older than 15 years and not in current use should request an exemption from State Records.

• complete Approval to store permanent information assets with an ASP form and
• email to State Records.

Unsentenced information assets

Agencies wishing to store records with ASPs which are unsentenced should request an exemption from State Records.

• Complete the Approval to store unsentenced information assets with an ASP form and
• email to State Records.
