State Records of South Australia produces a number of publications for government and the general public. We have a range of publications to assist researchers to access records relating to South Australian History.

Likewise, we produce a range of publications to assist government agencies to comply with the State Records Act, 1997 and other relevant legislation.

Publications range from:

  • guides and indexes for researchers
  • information kits
  • policies and procedures
  • guidelines
  • newsletters
  • standards
  • disposal schedules
  • annual reports and official meetings.

Other publications are of a more informal nature and for general interest. These include such items as:

  • Postcards and Posters
  • Photographs of items in the Collection.

Some publications are only available for purchase, whereas others may be downloaded at no cost.

State Records helps to administer the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) as they apply in South Australia. To facilitate this, State Records, from time to time, produces policies and procedures to support these principles.

Primary sources for Senior Secondary studies

State Records, in collaboration with the SACE Board of South Australia, have collated a set of original documents from our archives on the topic Whose land is it anyway? The documents selected cover topics relating to the lives of Aboriginal people in South Australia and their experiences with government in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

These primary source materials are appropriate for use in Year 10 History, Stage 1 History, Stage 2 Australian History, Stage 1 and 2 Society and Culture and Stage 2 Aboriginal Studies.
