The State Government of South Australia is committed to protecting the privacy of your information and, in doing so, must comply with a set of Information Privacy Principles (IPPs). These are issued as a Government administrative instruction and regulate the way personal information can be collected, used, stored and disclosed. The IPPs also provide a right for an individual to access and amend their personal information.
The IPPs apply to South Australian Government agencies only. They do not apply to other Australian government agencies, private sector organisations, South Australian universities or Local Government councils.
The Privacy Committee of South Australia administers the IPPs for Government and provides advice to Government on issues relating to the protection of personal privacy. The Committee also oversees the implementation of the IPPs in South Australian Government agencies.
