Privacy Committee of South Australia

On This Page

The Privacy Committee has six members appointed by the Minister responsible for Privacy.

The Privacy Committee oversees the application of the Information Privacy Principles Instruction (IPPI) by State Government agencies, reports to the Minister and provides advice on privacy issues.

The connection between the Privacy Committee and State Records is particularly strong because of the importance of good records management to the protection and proper management of personal information. State Records provides executive support to the Privacy Committee. Further information about the Privacy Committee may be found in the Committee's Proclamation at the end of the IPPI.

The principal officer of each agency is required to ensure the IPPI is implemented, maintained and observed in respect to the personal information they collect and hold.

If you feel that a State Government agency may have breached the IPPI, further information can be found by selecting 'Making a Privacy Complaint' from the Related Information links below.

State Government agencies can contact the Privacy Committee via the Executive Officer, Privacy Committee of South Australia.
