The Privacy Committee oversees the application of the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) by State Government agencies, reports to the Minister and provides advice on privacy issues. The IPPs requires the principal officer of each agency to ensure the principles are implemented, maintained and observed in respect to the personal information they collect and hold. Further information about the Privacy Committee may be found at the end of the IPPs instruction.
The connection between the Privacy Committee and State Records is particularly strong because of the importance of good records management to the protection and proper management of personal information.
