Police Commissioner's Office papers,  c.1840 - 1875

This series contains correspondence and telegrams from the Police Commissioner's Office.  It includes a report on the Police Stations at Wellington, Mount Barker, Port Elliot and Willunga, 1854; the wreck of the 'Alma', 1861; discharged Fenian prisoners, 1869; Gold Escort, 1853; Lambing Flat riots, 1861; list of questions and answers for the guidance of Police recruits, 1869; sketch of a Police uniform, 1840s; and the apprehension of Richard Turner.

The Special List covers the years circa 1840 to 1875.  The list is arranged numerically and includes an item number, a description of the item contents and date range.
